Zoom player has an option in its menu's to disable screen saver during fullscreen / zoom. If i set zoom player to automatically close when video is finished the computer goes to sleep normally, and ive had this issue on several computers over the years on 2000 / xp / vista and win 7. This prevents the screen saver from running and the computer from going into sleep mode.

If i run "powercfg -requests" in windows 7 i see the program preventing my computer from sleeping is zoom player.

I was just thinking that maybe the screen that Zoom shows at the end of a movie - if it isn't set to auto-rewind - may be enough to kick things out of gear a bit.
The other thing you may be able to try - regardless of what Windows version you run - is to change the Advanced Options->Playback->On Playlist Complete option to Auto-Rewind (if it isn't already set to that), and then see if the problem still occurs. Close Task Scheduler and then see if the problem persists. Inside Task Scheduler, navigate to Task Scheduler Library->Microsoft->Windows->Maintenance, and then right click on WinSAT and select Disable. If you do have Win7, open up Task Scheduler (Start Menu, type 'task' and click Task Scheduler). But I want to clarify the fact that Windows Media Player doesn't come with a zoom in or out feature to help you make out some details in a section of a video, it only enables you to change the player window size to 50, 100 or 200. X9sim9 - do you have Win7 installed by any chance? There is an automatically installed task that runs on Win7 that is known to prevent a monitor from switching off. ' Some people still appear to mistakenly think that Windows Media Player is capable of zooming in a video.

As far as I am aware, the Windows screensaver running will not prevent a PC from switching into sleep mode, so I don't think an option for Zoom to disable the (Windows?) screensaver while playing would help (I've never seen the Windows screensaver activate while playing with Zoom though, and mine is set to trigger after 15 minutes - so I think Windows is actually smart enough to realise that the PC isn't inactive while Zoom is playing).
